1-800 WATER DAMAGE is a locally owned property restoration firm. We are experts in water damage, fire and mold mitigation.
We launched the business as a result of an experience we had many years ago when our family owned a children’s learning center on Long Island. The center caught fire as a result of an accident by a roofing contractor. Thankfully nobody was hurt but the business suffered extensive fire and water damage and was at risk of closing down if we couldn’t get it up and running again in a relatively short time. It was a traumatic experience but we learned important lessons including the critical function of an effective and ethical restoration contractor.
That experience was the beginning of our education in property restoration. We have since partnered with BELFOR as part of their franchising arm; 1-800 WATER DAMAGE. Partnering with BELFOR provides us with virtually unlimited resources to ensure we have the available resources to effectively manage any size job. Our team takes great pride in providing property restoration services that are second to none on Long Island.

John is the founder and franchisee of 1-800 Water Damage of Nassau County and is driven to provide world-class restoration services to the Long Island and NYC community. With help from the entire team, John developed the following creeds which the whole team is committed to;

John is IICRC certified in Applied Structural Drying and Water Damage Remediation and is a licensed Mold Remediation Contractor in New York State.
John is originally from Brooklyn but grew up in Nassau County. When John is not working, he enjoys backpacking, running, reading and spending time with his family. He is married to Janice, a middle school teacher and has two boys, Matthew and Brian.

Pete Kolaitis
Technician
Pete is passionate about the business of property restoration. In addition to his many years of experience as a property restoration contractor, Pete has completed hundreds of hours of training over and above his IICRC Certifications in Fire & Smoke Restoration and Water Damage Restoration. Pete is also a certified NYS Mold Remediation contractor. Pete hails from upstate New York and spend many years in Florida but is now happy to be back north in a colder climate. Pete enjoys spending time with his family and loves the outdoors.

Joe Fazzino
Technician
Joe is an experienced contractor and crew chief. He grew up on Long Island but left after high school for an opportunity in Virginia. He is excited to be back home and is even more excited about his recent engagement. Joe is a serious animal lover and his “happy place” is virtually anywhere outdoors.

Brian McQuaid
Brian brings a tremendous depth and breadth of experience. He has over two decades of experience in technical service, consulting and management roles and over 15 years with his local volunteer fire dept. Recently his leadership skills were evident when Brian was elected as Chief of the Department for his 3rd consecutive term. Brian is IICRC certified in Applied Structural Drying and Water Damage Remediation. Brian has a wife and two children who just adopted an adorable new puppy, Rocky, who keeps the whole family entertained.

Mike Freapane
Technician
We are very proud to have Mike as part of the 1-800 Water Damage family. With over 8 years’ experience in construction and property restoration, Mike is an asset to the 1-800 Water Damage team. He is meticulous when it comes to meeting the needs of each customer and has a work ethic second to none.
Mike grew up on Long Island and when he’s not leading a hand to the 1-800 Water Damage crew, he can usually be found on the Great South Bay, fishing.

Anthony Freapane
Technician
Anthony has over 10 years experience in a variety of contracting specialties and is a master of many.
There’s no contracting problem Anthony can’t overcome. He loves a challenge and is a resourceful and
dedicated member of the team.When Anthony is not home caring for his beautiful newborn daughter, he can be found on the beach or taking his dog, Sadie, a mini-Australian Shepard, on long walks through the woods.

We are delighted to welcome Luis to the team! Luis has over 5 years experience in providing
outstanding contracting and irrigation services. In addition to his technical skills, Luis is an excellent
communicator and an outgoing and fun co-worker. A lifelong Long Island resident, when he’s not
working, Luis is an avid hiker and basketball player.
